Community in Collaboration

Support from people like you is what enables The Respite Inn to continue offering our services. The Regional Center contributes funds for guests with Individual Program Plans, however the rate we receive is not sufficient to cover the actual costs of  providing the service.

Contributions from our community are indispensable for delivery of our wellness approach to care, and for maintenance of The Respite Inn property, equipment, and amenities. As just one example, within the last two years your generosity made it possible to install an improved walk-in tub/shower that is a huge benefit for guests with wheelchair or other mobility needs.

Your gifts of funds, volunteer time, and volunteer services have kept our doors open for the past 35 years. We also welcome donations of event tickets, art supplies, electronic appliances, and other necessities that benefit guests at The Respite Inn.

How to Donate

The Respite Inn graciously accepts contributions, which can be tax deductible. We are a 501(c)3 agency with Tax ID # 68-0222611. Your gift will help families receive respite services when they are in such desperate need. In addition, your gift will also help The Respite Inn provide the best level of individual care for each guest’s needs.

Ways You Can Donate:

    You can mail a check to The Respite Inn.
  • Online
    You can make a secure online contribution to The Respite Inn using PayPal.
  • Monthly ONline
    Make a monthly, online donation.
    Just look for the checkbox that says “Make this a monthly donation“.
  • Employer Matching
    You can designate The Respite Inn through your employer’s matching gift program if it is offered through your employer. Our United Way number is 16996 if it is needed.
  • In Tribute
    You can make a loving tribute in honor or memory of a friend or relative.

How to Volunteer

Please contact us to volunteer your resources or services. The Respite Inn will work with you to identify a rewarding activity that meets the time availability, skills, and interests of you or your group.

These are examples of our many different opportunities. We’re also open to your ideas!

  • Sing alongs, guest parties and game nights, yard or building maintenance, fundraising, bookkeeping, web design, crafts.
  • Boy scouts and Girl scouts have completed numerous Eagle, Silver and Gold projects at The Respite Inn.
  • Chevron helped hauling mulch and painting guest rooms.
  • Knights of Columbus and Mount Diablo Vista Soroptimists have helped with yard maintenance and clean up.

This Wish List includes our most basic needs, but please reach out if you have other items you can offer. The Respite Inn is like an everyday home for our guests, so you can imagine the wide array of items that are useful for the work we do.

  • Tickets to community events

  • Garden equipment (tools, plants, garden benches, umbrellas)
  • Gift certificates to stores for household supplies (Amazon, Target, Home Depot, etc.)
